Project Alliance Strapping is pleased to announce the completion of two significant studies that contribute to advancing knowledge and innovation in the field of strapping solutions.
The Fraunhofer Institute has finalized an in-depth study titled “Analysis of the Damage Behaviour of Strapping Tapes Under Different Load Cases.” This research offers critical insights into how strapping bands perform under various stress scenarios, helping to improve material design, safety, and performance in packaging applications. The findings have recently been shared with policy officers at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Environment (DG ENV) and other key stakeholders.

In parallel, GVM Gesellschaft für Verpackungsmarktforschung has completed a comprehensive comparison study between reuse systems for strapping bands and the current standard of single-use disposable strapping. This analysis provides valuable data on the environmental and economic implications of both systems, supporting informed decision-making for a more circular and sustainable packaging industry. The results have likewise been presented to EU DG ENV officials and other relevant parties.
